Still here at Computer Adaptive
Technologies, Inc. I was recently downgraded to a "cube".
That's what they call this thing that has 1.5 walls and leaves my
monitor hanging out for all the world to see. The boss says it's
temporary. It had better be.
Job title
The card says "Software Developer", but what they
really mean is "Data Janitor", "Holder of Archaic
FoxPro Knowledge", "Psychometric Whipping Girl"
and "Cube Dweller". Grr...
Workgroup responsibilities
Big surprise: I'm in the Custom Software group. This means
digging out source code from years ago for applications that do
unknown tasks for clients we didn't remember we had. Thrill a
minute, I tell you. It's like an Easter egg hunt, all year round.
The sick thing is, I really do love it, even if it is in FoxPro 2.6.
They tell me someday, if I'm really good, I'll get to handle the
update to Visual FoxPro. Woo-hoo!
